DENIED VA CLAIMS

What to Do After a VA Disability Claim Is Denied

A denial is a decision that should be read issue by issue. Before choosing a review path, identify what VA decided, what evidence it considered, what reasons it gave, and whether there are factual or evidentiary gaps.

Read the decision before choosing a path

Start with the actual decision letter. List each condition or issue separately, the finding for each issue, and the stated reasons for the decision.

Create a decision-and-evidence timeline

Collect the decision notice, relevant medical records, service records, prior submissions, and any new evidence. A timeline can help distinguish evidence that VA already considered from information that may be new.

Review options are not interchangeable

VA provides different decision-review options. The appropriate route depends on the facts, evidence posture, and timing of the case. Mission Claim does not select a legal strategy for you.
